II55

The day of separation and the night of solitude
are at an end,
This is your fortune: your fortune depends on you.

Autumn showed pride and vanity,
All this comes to an end with the spring.

The fortunate star of the crown of flowers
brought an end to autumn winds and hurtful thorns.

A twilight of hope flickered
behind the curtain of the Mystery,
The dark nights are gone, and victory is assured.

The worries of winter nights
and the grief of my heart
Came to an end when I glimpsed the Beloved.

Time breaches all contracts; so I can't believe
that the Friend's good fortune
could be enough to end my own sorrow.

Saki! We all depend on your cup of wonder,
Your grace will end all our worries and hangovers.

Though no one cared for Hafiz,
Both good fortune and bad comes and goes, thank Allah!
