IV107

I desire your smiling face, your charming hair,
Your blissful eyes - and some fiery wine!

Only when wine removes my concerns
can I express the secret of Eternity.

I am like Adam in paradise, but this time
I love gracious beauty and bright red lips.

In Love there is suffering, smiling, and awe,
We stand like candles, unafraid of the fire.

The city is full of bright lips and dark eyes,
But as a poor jeweler, I lack such riches.

I see many sensuous eyes in the city,
I can be relaxed even without wine.

The city is full of beauties, young and old,
If I wasn't penniless, I'd have them all.

If by luck I can find the Friend,
Then I would understand the meaning of happiness.

Hafiz, you show great talent in beauties,
But you find none yourself, and sigh.
