II48

If the Saki keeps serving wine like this,
All pious men will drink wine all day.

If the Beloved's face is covered by the Beloved's hair,
many birds of wisdom would fall into the Beloved's chin.

Happy the drunk who falls at the Beloved's feet!
He sacrifices his head, and his body, and everything.

Boorish Zahid is loyal to wine only by circumstance,
But mature wine will make your inexperience greater.

Get wisdom in the daylight, not time to drink.
Drinking during the day obscures the mind.

The best time to enjoy the bright wine
is in the dark of the night.

Never drink wine with the Sheriff,
He'll drink your wine and then steal your cup!

If Hafiz's luck leads him to catch his Moon,
He'd joyfully rise to the light of the Sun.
